Water damages happen when you least expect them. Quick reaction time is the key to saving your home’s structural integrity, and preventing microbial growth (mold and mildew). Whether in the middle of the night or first thing Christmas morning, we have technicians on stand-by, ready to assist you.
Depending on which category of water has affected your home, different steps will be taken to prevent further damage. Categories of water are explained in detail below.
Category 1 (clear water): This is liquid from a clean and sanitary source, such as faucets, toilet tanks, drinking fountains, etc. But, category one can quickly degrade into category two.
Category 2 (grey water): This category of liquid is described as having a level of contaminates that may cause illness or discomfort if ingested. Sources include dishwasher or washing machine overflows, flush from sink drains, and toilet overflow with some urine but not feces.
Category 3: (black water): This is the worst classification, and is grossly unsanitary. It could cause severe illness or death if ingested. Sources include sewer backup, flooding from rivers or streams, toilet overflow with feces, and stagnant liquid that has begun to support bacterial growth.
First things first: A trained team will extract the standing water in your home using our high capacity recovery tank attached to a very powerful PTO truck mounted vacuum system. After the standing water has been removed, any contents or structures affected by category 1 water will be dried using industry leading dehumidifiers and high volume air movers. If affected by category 2 or 3 water, the contents and building materials will need to be documented and removed from the home due to contamination. Once this has taken place, the remaining structure or building materials will be sanitized using a high-pressure steam cleaning alongside a high strength anti-microbial.
At this point everything has been cleaned to standard, and drying equipment will be used to force evaporation and get your home back to normal as soon as possible. Generally, the drying process takes 3-5 days, depending on the materials affected. Our trained teams will monitor all equipment on a daily basis to ensure proper drying procedures and effectiveness. As soon as the entire loss has been dried to standard, the equipment will be removed and you will be ready for reconstruction!
